The abusive and harmful behavior of some people with fat fetishes and feedists is unfairly generalized to everyone with these kinks, when in reality, all kink communities have members who perpetuate abuse and harmful behavior. Outsiders focus on this harmful behavior a disproportionate amount because of the fatphobic idea that no one would participate in a kink focused on appreciation of fatness unless coercion was involved.

When a non-feedist fat person is nonconsensually fetishized or sexually harassed in a way that focuses on their fatness, it packs a bigger punch than nonconsensual fetishization from other fetishes.
