Lana’s debut literally reeks of white privilege. She can’t dance or sing at all, yet somehow she gets to be a soloist. I don’t get it. I realize that she fits Korea’s beauty standards but that alone shouldn’t have been enough for her to debut. It’s so fucked up how some Russian Koreaboo got to debut just because she’s pretty while South East Asians, black people, and Latinos aren’t even able to become trainees. It’s so obvious that it was her whiteness that allowed her to debut, because from what I’ve seen it sure as hell wasn’t her dancing or singing. Her fans keep using the “she’s part Tatar” excuse but it doesn’t even matter if she is ¼th Tatar because she is still very much so white-passing and she will never face the same issues as people who are fully Tatar.
