People are really worked up about Ryan Gosling winning all the Barbie Awards while Margo Robbie and the other women involved in the film are sidelined as if the movie itself didn't sideline its feminism in favor of Ken and his story.
#ken was the protagonist of that movie im afraid : (#overall the feminism in that movie was extremely reductive and the movie itself at times did not even conform#to the statement it claimed to be making#im just as annoyed that the man is getting all the praise for the woman movie but it feels a bit hypocritical#to pretend that the way the movie itself was structured did not set him up for this while neglecting to do the same for its female leads#super fun watch tho#not all movies have to be Statement Madtetpieces its just odd to me that this one has been so successfully marketed as such despite.#Everything lol#*masterpieces
