I think most of the people who constantly talk about how “young adults aren’t real adults” are people who grew up on this website being coddled and told they weren’t accountable for any of their actions because they were minors. Now they’re no longer minors (or won’t be for much longer) and still don’t want to be held accountable for themselves. Instead of accepting adult responsibility, they just keep bumping the age up so they’ll never have to. 

That’s why the age has been getting higher and higher. First it was eighteen, then it crept up into the twenties, and now I’ve started seeing people arguing that people who are almost thirty aren’t “actual adults.”

Grow up.
