Ummmm, does anyone have any recommendations of UK footballer memoirs (or other books) I should read to better understand Roy Kent's background? I'm particularly interested in Roy's time in the youth academies, and what it might have been like to be scouted by a team that was very far away from where his family lived. Especially for any former footballers who are roughly Roy Kent's age (~38).
I know Roy Keane has a couple autobiographies, and the first one is supposed to be good, but other than him being angry and the letters in his name, I don't know how much he actually has in common with Roy Kent.
( @lilalbatross ? @banderlion ? Probably not big on memoirs, but just in case :) )
stuffing clean clothes into my laundry basket so I don’t have to put them up is a coping mechanism

@tinchentitri Look closely! I definitely need to write that one shot now, don’t I?

It is possible to talk about your ship without dragging another ship down.
It is possible to act with respect towards shippers while still having differing opinions on the ships in question.
It is possible to be a grownup in fandom spaces, and act with empathy.
It is not necessary to drag someone else down or insult another ship or its fandom to make yourself feel better.
It’s not necessary for you to like other ships, or to understand them.
It is important that you respect your fellow fans.
Sincerely, a very annoyed multishipper
‘We were all worried about it. How long can you suspend a human being upside down by his ankles? It was such a weird sensation every night. Inside myself, of course I was aware of the power of the scene. But inside myself it was almost a relief that the story was over. That whatever was required from me internally, to give this amazing story shape and meaning, it’s over. The rest is silence.’
