Other misc pics/videos I took from the panel (sorry the angle isn't great for these).

In terms of what the Trigun panel generally consisted of at Anime North, it was CG Director Iketani-san going through some scenes she had overseen the animation for, breaking it down from the storyboard to motion capture to modelling and finally rendering stage!
She picked the following scenes to show:
- Tonis falling out of Meryl's grasp at Jeneora Rock, specifically focusing on Roberto's model (😢)
- Meryl kicking Wolfwood LOL
- Wolfwood forcing Meryl to eat at the end of ep 4
Cool tidbits are that she actually did the motion capture herself for these scenes! So she would act out Roberto, Meryl, Wolfwood, etc. She said the Meryl kicking Wolfwood scene took a long time because of the shiver effect they had to do on Wolfwood, which was essentially a "noise" effect on certain polygons of Wolfwood. That shot alone took 1.5 months to complete (granted with work being done on other shots at the same time).
Vash has the highest polygon count in the models, due to the details of his facial expressions, hair, and fluidity of his coat, just to list a few examples.
She said the hardest scene to animate was likely Knives' tentacles during EP 11.
And one of her favourite scenes to animate was Roberto's death scene omg 💀 .
ALSO at the panel, these are storyboard pics they showed of Meryl when Wolfwood forces her to eat at the end of ep 4 HAHAH the expressions
OK SO studio orange had a Trigun panel today at Anime North and Producer Watanabe gave some details about Plant lore that I've never heard before??
He said that plants were excavated from Earth, he said they were thought of as "angel mummies". Then humans took their genetic data and re-engineered them into what we know as plants.
Ohhh I just noticed this in my tristamp rewatch, but a fun little easter egg of Nightow with his own wanted poster in tristamp ep 6
