With all of the preparations for her nuptials, Genevieve hasn’t had any time to herself. Of course she’s seen them, but it’s been a long while since the two of them have spent time together without duties to attend to. Too long, she muses privately, and after tonight too long will become never again. She pushes the thought to the back of her mind and it hangs relentlessly. “I’m surprised.” It is partially true, though it would be uncouth for them to ignore the request of a princess. “If you avoided me for one more night, you would be free of me forever.” Her words are teasing, but the truth hides in them. She smiles softly and holds out a gloved hand for them to take. “I need a guide if I am to bid this place a proper farewell. After that, you are welcome to leave.”
