OTHER-SIDE!PROTOMAN HEADCANONS
I call it other-side because it’s not exactly The Protomen anymore if I changed some things I guess. Maybe it still counts? Not sure, I’ll tag it anymore. I really wanna RP Other-Side!Proto srsly.
HOLY SHIT THIS GOT TO TL;DR TERRITORY AGAIN... WHOOPS. CUTTING IT. ( I also might just make a small Megaman fanfic about this. Might have to give it a different name that ‘Other-Side’ )
Personality
Pretty much just like how I normally RP Blues, only less rude and jerk-like sometimes. He’s pretty upbeat, optimistic and shows he cares to those he is close to. In this case, it’s only Dr. Light at the moment.
He was given the name Blues by accident, and he took it as his ‘real name’ while Protoman is his ‘super hero name’.
For some reason, was built to fight, but Light gave him almost human-like consciousness. Therefore, he’s a little emotional, but he doesn’t let this get in the way when he’s out toppling Robot Masters.
He doesn’t believe every single human is incapable of fighting for themselves, and knows that many will be scared. He knows that somewhere, there may be groups of rebels who wish or try for a change.
Protoman makes light of dark situations, and pretty much is kinda like Megaman, only a little more predictable, since he was the first. It might have been part of his downfall if it wasn’t the boss rush (see below in history) that got him.
Relationships (before)
Dr. Thomas Light - His father, the first human he ever interacted with, and is very close to. Protoman loves him dearly, and will do what he can to make sure that he won’t have to feel angry or sad anymore. He’s very protective of Dr. Light, he refuses to let anything come close to harming him.
Dr. Albert Wily - Protoman has never met him before, therefore he is unsure how to react. But he does know that this man - according to his father - is the cause of all the chaos and tyranny, and must be stopped at all costs.
The Red Strikers - Named after Protoman (who wears red leather). A bunch of human and reprogrammed robots who are freedom fighters. They want to usurp Wily and his robots, and gladly join Protoman in his fight, even if they know they may die.
Auto - one of the reprogrammed robots. He’s has the personality of a video game NPC and shopkeep, and keeps “in character” by giving advice and even sometimes repeating the same bits of advice over and over when confronted. He is friends with Protoman and helps him get upgrades and repairs while Dr. Light isn’t around.
Rush - really weird robot dog. Maybe he was someone’s science project or something? Capable of some speech ‘like a caveman’ and can carry very heavy things. Bites really, really hard.
Relationships (after)
Rock / Megaman - Older twin brother to Roll, younger brother of Blues. He is much like Protoman was, though less likely to joke around or make light of a dark situation and is prone to more varying negative reactions. Protoman believe he and his sister are foolish to even bother helping the people of the city, and that Rock is even more naive than Dr. Light.
Roll - Twin sister to Rock, younger to Blues. She fights alongside the others, able to blend in better with crowds of humans and having the ability to go undetected by the machines with her abilities. When Protoman encounters her, he genuinely thought she was another ‘human traitor’. Prone to be very compassionate and likes to let everyone know what’s on her mind the second it pops up.
The Rush Roadstars - They are a new resistance made of surviving members of the disbanded Red Strikers and constantly recruiting new, willing rebels. Auto and Rush are still among them, and Rock and Roll are their leaders. Dr. Light sometimes makes efforts to help out too, despite everything, never truly giving up.
Dr. Wily - He is master. Must obey Wily. Can trust in Wily. He keeps you safe. He has control.
History
Planning Resistance: Instead of taking on all the Robot Masters at once (which there are more than just the 6 first ones, but many, many more), Protoman learns to plan out things and do strategic sneak attacks. After a while he gained the help of the Red Strikers, and more machines were felled.
The Boss Rush: After a while, Wily catches on to this, and decided to set a trap for Protoman. Which involved separating him from his team and murdering them all in an unfair, bloody fight. The Red Strikers that survived disappeared into the night as Protoman takes the shots for them, being ganged up on by a small group of Robot Masters.
Hope Rides Alone: Dr. Light had thought that Protoman had died, especially after being confronted by a Red Striker carrying the warrior’s shattered helmet. After which he reacts accordingly and blames himself for the death of his son. He lashes out in his lab later in anger, but not long after that, he began to build Rock and Roll out of sadness and loneliness. They live with the doctor, trying to comfort him while he laments about the past and keeps them under a watchful eye.
Rewired: Protoman’s remains were reworked, reviving him under Wily’s orders in order to have this powerful force on his side. Some of the data couldn’t be tampered with in order not to cause the whole robot to stop functioning properly forever. He is now the leader of the Robot Masters.
The Rush Roadstars’ Ride: Rock and Roll refuse to let the efforts of their brother and the Red Strikers go in vain, so they rally up a new resistance in their honor, and for the sake of justice and freedom. Rock takes up the name Megaman - after their city Megapolis - as its new leader of hope alongside Roll, who takes a less flashy approach to help.
Children of Fate: Eventually, the plan to infiltrate Wily’s fortress was acted out after months of planning and hurting Wily’s steel guard to create openings to finally free the city from fear. The Rush Roadstars eventually confront Protoman, which was a psychological trap for Rock and Roll, who were conflicted of what to do. Can Protoman be saved, or must they destroy their brother too?
Other
Protoman actually prefers cats, but Rush is okay. He tells the robopup to guard Dr. Light while he’s gone.
None of the robots ever need to eat, drink, or sleep. They also do not get tired or slow down because of it, only when malfunctioning or low on energy. When someone ever says a robot is “sleeping” they’re recharging.
