We should abandon the dagesh in the taf altogether. It's too much of a bother to keep track, and for little gain, either. In Sephardi pronunciation there's no difference between taf-with-dagesh and taf-without. In Ashkenazi pronunciation we already have the samech and the sin, so we can replace the sof with one of those. There's no way this can possibly go wrong.

saying "Israeli Hebrew isn't faithful to biblical Hebrew" isn't the hot take most people think it is. Israeli Hebrew was never gonna be a 1/1 adaptation of ancient Hebrew, not when people from all over the world with their own sub-cultures and accents are learning and apeaking it. it's just as valid as any other accent.
