PERFECT SCENE. i can't put into words how much i love it, how flawlessly it shows that nicholas and gelis were made for each other, and how in love they are. and specifically how much nicholas loves gelis, and how she's the one for him and has always been.
the callback to the date stones from book 4 is just so, so good, and only a madwoman like dorothy could pull it off.
this is the kind of romance that i adore. the chemistry, the unbreakable bond, the excitement in the most dangerous of situations that you can only really get in dynamics in which they're not only lovers, but partners.
