I will gladly choke out the person who said the split-attraction model is “conversion therapy rhetoric.” It feels like a bold statement, but I do feel like anyone who outright dismisses the SAM - or goes so far as to call it harmful - is inherently aphobic. In you insist someone’s romantic and sexual orientations can’t be different, you’re insisting aroallos and alloaces don’t exist. You’re insisting half of their identity must be fake. And knowing the sort of people likely to espouse this idea, it’s likely to be the aromantic or asexual half you insist on erasing. You’re also insisting that aroace people (or anyone whose orientations match, for that matter) aren’t allowed to experience and consider those identities and experiences and what they mean for them separately as well as as a conglomerate. If the SAM isn’t useful for you, you don’t have to use it. Obviously, there are non-SAM aspecs who don’t. But you don’t get to tell the huge number of us who find it critical to our understanding of ourselves and the world that it doesn’t exist, or worse is harmful to our community.

THE TENSION FUCK ME
can someone just tell me whether i’m bi or gay or ace because tbh idk

I think the biggest issue of being bi* is looking at the lead actress and actor of Pitch Perfect and being geniunly conflicted over which one is hotter.
