okay i dont hate halloween as much as i think, i GUESS.  last year, i just tried too hard to ‘get into the spirit’ when there was no spirit to give and ended up overexerting myself. for halloween activities for my classes, i copied what my predecessor did and ended up not being satisfied.

this year, i’m celebrating on my own terms and refusing to dedicate a whole lesson to halloween because let’s face it, the gaudy, westernized version is already everywhere even in rural japan.  you can’t get an ‘’authentic’’ halloween experience until you comb through neighborhoods knocking on stranger’s door for candy anyways, so like. why bother.  okay, that’s a bad way of putting it but POINT IS...i’m not trying so hard this year.

i say as i plan to go in a rilakkuma onesie to school tomorrow

Christmas Art Challenge
