I sometimes wish I painted illustrations of nature things like flowers and insects and birds and beasts. Not people. Not specific people whom I simply cannot stop loving. And therefore cannot forsake.

If I did such illustrations, folks would have cared for them. Folks do not care for something which is not exactly pretty, by any conventional measure, and features characters they feel no sympathy for. Why would they?
