over the christmas holidays my welsh mum and I have been doing a family scrapbook, which entails a lot of drawing family trees and pouring over photographs from the early 1900s

and during one of these sessions she informed me of my great-great-uncle alfred, who supposedly died of pneumonia after breaking a hip which he did by falling off a stool while yelling at the sheep in his garden to ‘bugger off’.

which...yes. this is sad and I feel bad about it, but also this is one of the most supremely welsh things I have ever heard of.
