Depends 10000% on the cause of the breakup. Was the breakup due to betrayal? He'd be hurt for the rest of his life and have issues trusting. Was the breakup due to them doing something to "protect them"? He'd probably never stop carrying a flame. Was the breakup due to a stupid fight they've had a dozen times? Probably eventually. Cain's a lover, and he loves with his whole heart...a breakup to him is like having a piece of him ripped out and left with the other person so it's a rough road to recovery for him if it ends in a bad way.
