Hey Solidarity Sister! Yah Yah!! So like, we need to talk about that beautiful freakin trailer that came out yesterday! Like we need to come up with theories and just talk about it! Like... why is Lorelai looking sad with Luke and feeling like she isn't happy?! WTF is going on with Lorelai standing in the middle of ballerinas?! Why is Emily look like she is planning a wedding for a certain two Java junkies, in one shot? Why is there a pig? Where is Paul Anka. Tater Tots,mini donuts&Tacos!
Ya Ya! :) :) Okay, so I don’t know about you but that 2 minute trailer basically turned me into a phoenix that spontaneously combusts over and over again haha. I. Have. No. Chill. Left. I expected to be calmer today...but I’m not. At all.
HOW MUCH GLORIOUSNESS WAS PACKED INTO THAT TRAILER? *recovering for the rest of eternity*
I was thinking about Lorelai’s comment about the future seeming “hazy” and her looking/feeling forlorn. I don’t think she’s unhappy with Luke (quite the contrary) but that she wants their relationship to be defined in a more permanent/official way perhaps? Maybe marriage? (While they’ve hopefully been together since s7 ended, it’s probable it’s been in more of a common law living-together-and-contented way.) Also, I can’t stop thinking about Emily’s “I was married for 50 years. Half of me is gone” quote *cries forever* and how that (and Richard’s death) could be the impetus to spur Lorelai into this way of thinking. That maybe she realizes that Luke is half of her and she wants the town the world to know that, too. Maybe she wants them to be bound by heart, soul, and law? Tethered in any and every way it’s possible in this life. Just omg, CAN THEY PLEASE GET MARRIED?
I’ve seen some speculation about Lorelai standing in the middle of ballerinas--perhaps a proposal? Can’t you see Luke pulling out all the romantic stops like that and involving all of Stars Hollow in something spectacular? (Look what he did for Rory’s bon voyage.) He is the grand gesture KING and I would die of happiness. Especially if it came to be a “shotgun” kind of wedding celebration because they didn’t want to wait anymore.
I swear, I would DIE a million shipper deaths if Emily helped plan a JJ wedding. (Would Paul Anka be the ring bearer? That’d be hilarious!) I need her to finally accept Luke and how amazing he is, okay? Moreover, it’s possible that she could be a huge driving force in what finally brings Luke and Lorelai together in marriage. *please please pleaseeeee*
Where is Paul Anka is right!? He has to be around, no? And I want to know who owns Babe the harnessed Stars Hollow pig! It could be Kirk’s pet? He had horrible rotten luck with Cat Kirk so maybe he opted for something oinkier, haha.
Luke scolding the girls over their eating was precious! Takes me back to days of “Red meat kills. Enjoy.” Also, what’s with the giant red bow on the refrigerator?
AND RORY AND JESS. JESS AND RORY!!! Their easy, comfortable conversation and friendship--what is lifeeeee? And Logan, Lane, Michel, Kirk, Babette, Taylor, Miss Patty, etc... *screams into infinity*
The Emily and Richard stuff has me wanting to crawl under a rock and sob. I just keep hearing “I demand to go first” on a loop in my head and I am not ready for the pain. I am not ready, I am not ready! (100 boxes of tissues are needed.)
Honestly, chica, I still can’t believe this revival is happening!?!?!? 2016 is BLESSED and I am thrilled to see every single one of these characters’ faces again.
P.S. We can analyze/theorize forever and I will never, ever be bored haha.
