What about the new castings makes you think they will be good in their roles for Storm of Swords? I haven't seen most of them so I don't know their other roles?
Hey anon, well I don't really know it, all I know is that some of those actors have had good performances in some shows/movies I've watched, and I hope they can bring some of that to the show. I think the casting so far is really good, cause there are a couple of actors whose work I liked and also because they physically fit the part.
For example Thomas Brodie-Sangster (Jojen): I think this young actor has a pretty good resume and I've seen him in "Nowhere Boy", "Bright Star", "Nanny Mcphee", "Love Actually" and many other things I can't recall right now. But in general he gives good performances. I haven't always liked the movies he was in, but his performance is always good, actually GREAT. He's talented, no doubt about it. So I'm just really really excited to see what he does with this character. And actually Jojen and Meera were ok for me in the books, never really paid much attention to them, and now I'm like wow I want to see them right now. I hope both actors get good stuff to work with, cause I'm definitely excited to see Jojen and Meera now!
Tobias Menzies (Edmure Tully): Excellent casting! He already worked for HBO on a show called "Rome", that only lasted two season, but it was an amazing show, the detail, the magnificence of the story telling, acting and cinematography of it, are just reasons enough to watch it. If you haven't anon, I definitely recommend it! He played Brutus on Rome, his character had a great impact n the story, and his performance was great. He also had a small part in "Atonement" and one in "Casino Royale" as M's assistant or something like that. (Also this casting and the Blackfish casting brings me hope that Benioff and Weiss are gonna add some Riverrun in the story, cause is definitely needed).
Diana Rigg, I don't know much about this actress, but she seems great for the role and I can only recall seeing her in "The Painted Veil" (movie that I love).
And Mackenzie Crook, he was in the "Pirates of the Caribbean", in all 4 of them I think. He was also in City of Ember as Looper (movie that I love as well).
"It’s the bible, you get credit for tryin’"
Just to name some of the new cast members. To be honest these casting announcements has made me forget a little bit about some of the mishaps season 2 had.
And to be more honest I'm already stanning for some of these actors and their characters. :)
Thanks for your question. (Sorry it took me so long to answer)
