trip to america.
Teddy walked down the hall, coffee in hand, cursing everything that was the week after Christmas. It didn’t help that the second he stepped off the lift, when another voice from behind him stopped him. “Ted,” Teddy stopped, having been about to say something to Carter when he saw her exit their office. “I need you and Yaxley to look over these,” Harry was saying when Teddy turned around, shifting one of the coffees he was holding to the crook of his arm to make room for the files his father was handing him. “You two get first choice. The case you don’t pick, I’ll pass to another team. I need to know as soon as possible.”
He took the files from Harry and nodded, “Yes, sir.” As Harry walked around him, Teddy mumbled a ‘good morning to you too’ under his breath. Teddy nodded for Carter to follow him into their office, not daring another look at his father, already knowing exactly which look he was giving him. “I love when files get shoved at me at the ass-crack of dawn. Merry fucking Christmas,” Teddy said to Carter, with a huff, as he entered their office and shut the door. He sat on the edge of his desk, handing Carter one of the coffees he’d been struggling to hold as he made room for the papers Harry had just shoved at him, and started going through them.
“So, do you want to stay here and investigate the Scamander case or head to Ilvermorny? Apparently we get first choice,” he said, with a sigh, as he flipped through Lysander’s files. Murder cases always got him, but he’d never been able to handle the young ones. He looked up at her, “Fancy a trip to the States?”
