coming out is a pretty big fuck deal. and yeah, mika knows, and the girls suspect. but mika isn’t lucas’s best friend. yann is. and the fact that lucas finally overcame everything, every bitter and angry and hateful emotion he’s had in order to tell his best friend exactly what’s been going on, is so important, because it shows lucas’s growth.

and lucas doesn’t hold back. he tells yann straight up that he doesn’t have a thing for a girl, that he’s fallen in love, that he can’t sleep. he entrusts yann with this information because there’s no way yann won’t support him right?

so that look on his face, when yann says “i can’t do this, i need time” is truly heartbreaking. because that look isn’t just an i messed up in telling him look. that’s an and suddenly i’m all alone in the world look. 

lucas just trusted yann with every single thing that’s been bothering him. and yann walked away.
