day nineteen: iris west ii (impulse) | half-korean

the story; irey and her twin brother jai are the children of wally west, the flash, and his wife linda. when the twins turned three months old, they began aging rapidly. unsure of how long they’d live, wally taught them to be heroes so they could live full lives. irey later decided to stop using her powers, but when professor zoom threatened her and her brother through the speed force, she took jai’s connection to the force and accessed her full potential as a speedster.

abilities; irey has all the typical abilities of a speed force conduit, including super speed, intangibility, mass manipulation, and limited flight. before her powers were fully realized, she could only effectively manipulate her tangibility, but she later gained full control over all her potential abilities.

the story; bumblebee met cyborg while they were both infiltrating h.i.v.e. academy. she helped him stop brother blood and chase him to steel city. while there, she founded titans east, and became the team leader. she and her team appeared several times as allies of the main team.

abilities; bumblebee has the ability to shrink down to the size of a bee. she also has insect wings, allowing her to fly and giving her enhanced agility. she fights with weapons that she calls her “stingers,” which discharge bursts of electricity.

day sixteen: idie okonkwo (oya) | nigerian

the story; idie is a highly religious catholic girl, born and raised with the igbo people of nigeria. when her powers manifested, she accidentally burned down her village and killed her family, resulting in her nearly being killed by a paramilitary group. she joined hope and the five lights in their adventures before going to wolverine’s jean grey school. once there, she learned to accept her mutant abilities and made many friends, even beginning a relationship with quentin quire.

abilities; idie, one of the first mutants to manifest after m-day, has thermokinetic abilities and can manipulate temperatures. this manifests through pyrokinesis, which gives her the ability to create and control fire, and cryokinesis, which gives her the ability to generate ice.

day fifteen: noriko ashida (surge) | japanese

the story; nori was born and raised in japan, but ran away from home when her mutant powers manifested. she lived on the streets until she found the xavier institute. she became a member of dani moonstar’s new mutants squad and was frequently at the epicenter of trouble. after the decimation, nori became the leader of the new x-men. she moved to utopia with the rest of mutantkind and initially stayed with scott after the schism, but eventually went to the jean grey school.

abilities; nori constantly absorbs ambient electricity, from static electricity and electrical appliances. she can discharge this energy as lightning bolts and bursts of speed. because she can’t control her absorption, she must wear gauntlets to regulate her powers at all times.

day fourteen: jubilation lee (jubilee) | chinese

the story; jubilee, the daughter of wealthy chinese immigrants, lived in beverly hills until her parents were murdered. she stole food to survive until she found the x-men and lived in their hideout. wolverine eventually discovered her and brought her to professor xavier. she spent time on various x-teams, including the x-men, generation x, and x-corps, before she was depowered during m-day. jubilee was the field leader for the new warriors, but after the team was disbanded, she was bitten by a vampire. now with vampire powers, she is an x-man once more.

abilities; before m-day, jubilee had pyrotechnic mutant powers. she could create fireworks of varying strengths, from sparkles to blinding flashes. with the new warriors, she had a power suit that enhanced her strength and provided limited invulnerability, as well as hover discs. as a vampire, she has superhuman strength and speed, a healing factor, and the ability to turn into vapor.
