Continued reading Borderlands Debt or Alive again. It's like eating straight Skag feces.
Even more plotholes
Despite the DLC in BL2 where Gaige's dad helps her off wold, they suddenly stuck him in debtors prison for her crimes after she left so HE COULD NOT HAVE HELPED HER IN THAT DLC IF THAT WAS THE CASE.
Sasha blindly agreeing with Fiona and her fuckass dumbshit takes make 0 sense. Sasha would be FURIOUS that Fi is letting her temporary death blindly direct their decisions that are leading them farther and farther into shit. Not just being like "Oh yeah makes total sense why your fear is directing us away from Vault Hunting even though you seemed eager to keep vault hunting after my death." God this book is still a steaming pile.

My read of Sasha was that he fucked off to Europe at the worst possible time for teenaged Ilya, and broke Ilya's heart.
And obviously teenage Ilya was solidly miserable constantly and they just didn't have the kind of relationship where Sasha could formulate a goodbye. They were kids, and they fooled around. They didn't have heartfelt discussions about feelings.
A few years later they meet in that bathroom as adults, still young enough to remember the pain of how things ended, but too old to go back to blithely playing around. They can't clear the air because they still don't have the ability to have a conversation. The shared language doesn't sort things out automatically!
It's a summary of how Ilya forms these intense attachments to people and is devastated by abandonment. And he expects to be discarded. These are the stakes he's playing with, and the power that clueless baby Shane Hollander now has
