Normally, mainstream establishments were not his target. He wasn’t a heister or a buglar or a robber. No, he was a modern day Robin Hood, if he were to classify himself. Less ‘take from the rich, give to the poor,’ more so ‘take from the unfairly priced and divvy out at a more reasonable sum.’ Well, that’s the sort of ideal he followed most of the time.
Times were desperate and some of the boys on his big brother’s construction crew had personal projects. Ol’ brother could be a real stickler about borrowing work materials for personal use, so it was on Steve to find goodies for the others. Except goodies didn’t just reappear in buildings he’d previously torn apart. There was one store in town that sold construction and other tool stuff. He figured he’d go in, case it, and dip. Or, go in and yoink something if it was good enough.
He steps through the door, looking at the assortment of tools on the back wall.
“Hey uh. I need a socket wrench, you guys sell those?”
