The Shade

A familiar pact formed when the night was blessed by the blood of the demon jester Vertebrae. It is the true conscious in control of the demon's shadow manipulation abilities. Allowing the demon to control it to her whims.

It may act on its own accord to assist its master when it deems fit. It is truly obsessed with Vertebrae and it will do what it can to please her and help her with her goals.

It can not speak, sleep or eat. Though Vertebrae has learned to communicate with it as her blood coats it.

The shadows when given form are very chilling to the touch. It has little true weight but has an overwhelming oppressive heft when placed upon flesh. The sensation is felt more emotionally than physically.

It is present in all areas where darkness dwells it sees all, hears all, feels all.

Ability: Shadow Manipulation & Shadow Travel

Vertebrae's most powerful magical ability. It allows her near total control over shade/shadow/void to create shadow appendages; arms, insectoid legs, wing, tentacles, etc to do with as she pleases. While the void she controls seems to have some sentience outside of Vertebrae's own will Vertebrae cannot give it a full form. She also cannot control begins made of shadow/shade/void. Her main outfit is made of these shadows. Strong light or holy magic and cause them to disperse leaving her vulnerable (and nude)

These shadows also allow her a near infinite means of transportation. Able to merge in with the shade she can travel to any space, world and dimension where shade resides.
