Hello! Ashton here, aplatonic member of this system!

Pretty much, instead of making friends, I just sort of. Subconsciously adopt the people I enjoy being around into a sort of found family? If that makes sense?

I also tend to enjoy socializing, but more out of an interest in how other beings act, and for entertainment ! :D

Do keep in mind that other's experiences with being aplat/allofamilial may be different! :D

Every time I try to be in a relationship and it starts to move fast, I panic, and freak out on the person. Whether the relationship is moving fast physically or mentally. My brother touched me when I was 11 (inappropriately) and I think that has something to do with it. But I'm not 100% sure if that's the reason I do it. Should I say something to my therapist? -Ashton

It's definitely possible that what happened with your brother could be affecting your relationships now. Traumatic experiences like that tend to affect our lives in many ways, even years after they happened. So yes, you should definitely talk to your therapist about this! Your therapist can't help you with this if they don't know what is going on.
