Something Something the way that people treated (and still treat) the Boyfriends webcomic (and also the way they reacted when there was a genderbend version) says a lot about how people feel about gay men especially polyamorous ones, and the fact that people saw a genderbend version of them and went crazy praising the feminine versions is really a big sign of peoples views on gay men in general. It's especially weird to me that people acted very weird towards the comic when it showed a group of queer teenage boys being sexual towards each other, as well as the amount of cringe culture that was being thrown at the webcomic.
ADD ON FOR IDIOTS: This is not me saying lesbians or women-loving people are more or less oppressed than gays or men-loving people. At most, this is me saying I think people's internalized homophobia needs to be checked, especially their need to sanitize every queer piece of media. It is ESPECIALLY me pointing out the amount of Polyphobia (Poly?? phobia?? what is that called, does it have a name? Or am I right?) that people continuously exhibit. ADD ON #2: This also isn't me saying you cannot dislike the webtoon, but if you ramble on about how you want to kill the characters/want them dead and make weird caricatures of them, I'm going to assume you're PROBABLY just homophobic.
I believe that most of the people who hated the Boyfriends webcomic were homophobic (specifically towards queer men) or polyphobic, whether they were aware of this or not, and that they need to check themselves next time they want a reason to yell about queer men being cringe/gross/weird. Especially considering the number of people I've seen wishing death on these fictional characters over.. what? If you hate the webcomic and decide you wanna bark at me for this, go ahead! But if you can't come up with an actually good reason behind hating the webcomic, I'm just gonna block you.
