I feel like there should be fandom etiquette discouraging people from passing off edits and fanfiction as canon, and making fake promotional material.

These people always make petty excuses when they get called out for rudely misleading others. They just see it as a game or a nice prank and they don’t care that it’s because of them that fandoms are constantly needing to double-check sources nowadays. It’s not fun for anyone else.

Either add a disclaimer from the very beginning, or keep that stuff in “fanon” wikis.

I know I’m dad and wrote 100+ wisdoms with thousands of notes collectively, but I need an Advice(TM) myself.

How do I accept that nothing is really permanent and no matter how hard I try to control it and preserve or document things, everything will eventually change and be forgotten? That I am powerless to stop a moth from eating my old stuffed animals or that funny-looking apple from decaying?

How am I supposed to live well with the fact that unless I find a way to end time itself, my sentimental efforts to keep everything are ultimately futile?

How do I let go?
