Modest beginning in Galar. Mom, younger brother ( Peony ) and himself. Father passed away during a mining accident at a young age.
Worked in the mines himself for a short time but turned his focus to Pokemon and the gym challenge.
Gained notoriety for actually being quite a skilled trainer and made it as a runner up. This was enough traction to make Macro Cosmos possible.
It started small and humble with the goal to make Galar prosper before evolving into the conglomerate it is today.
Eventually he rises to become the chairman of the Pokemon League, evolving it into a grand event with use of the dynamax phenomena and the power spots.
Midgame
Very well respect around Galar and liked thanks to his cheery and outgoing charisma. He loves and wants only the best for Galar .. at any costs. He's also rather short-sighted, impatient and reckless. A gung-ho personality means for better or worse ( worse in this case ) he makes leaps without seeing where things are going to land first.
Something something the end justifies the means and something something absolute power corrupts absolutely no matter how well-meaning.
He has lots of connections and close partners, some rather uh .. dubious to say the least. He's knowledgeable about who they are, what they do to a point but ya know .. uh .. maybe if he just .. turns his head a little he can't see it. Sure. His focus is on Galar so what they do behind closed doors is not for him to worry about.
His plan to use the Darkest Day and Eternatus to oversee the power supply shortage some 1000 years into the future is his biggest bet to solving this with the pokemon already captive and dormant.

Turns himself in after realizing Eternatus could not be controlled even with Leon's strength and even his backup checks failed. Thankfully it was subdued by Victor/Gloria and Hop with Zazamenta and Zacian.
Steps down from Macros Cosmos for Leon to take over as chairperson. He's going to cut himself from any outlet that gave him control, freeze or sign over his accounts to either Macro Cosmos or outlets in Galar, and take his time in prison to reflect.
Insert reason for a very carefully watched parole overseen by Interpol and kept on a very tight leash no doubt. He can't leave Galar and has frequent check ins with Interpol agents.
Which is fine cause all he wants to do is make peace for an absolute diaster he caused to a region he thought he was doing well for. He wants to go back to roots.
Which iiis his childhood cottage somewhere between Wedgehurst and Postwick on the outskirts.
No longer has connections with Macro Cosmos or any of the businesses he once controlled ( nor is he allowed to/want to ). Instead he focuses on the community he's in with reception varying as you can imagine. He's also focusing again on training Pokemon after realizing how much he missed it. He'll quickly correct anyone who calls him "Chairman" as simply "Rose".
Yeah uh, he's got a lot of work to do in the eyes of Galar if they'll have him even.

- She DID take the gym challenge as a tiny alongside Avery, Piers, Leon, Raihan, etc. Avery remains one of her closest friends while the others taking major league careers because she ( and in this case Avery too ) felt too ashamed of loosing against Leon during the finals to do anything more.
- Lived with a HUGE family of eight siblings in a small home. In a place where competition for attention and sibling rivalry was a huge toxic thing she needed a way OUT especially with the challenge over for her which offered an escape for awhile.

She’s from a large, large competitive family and had to fight to get everything from her many other brothers and sisters. That means shared spaces, no privacy, whole lot of sibling rivalry, and everything’s shared or stolen or otherwise. She’s second oldest which still doesnt help cause chaos > hierarchy in their household ( and boy was she happy to get the hell out of there ).
Super e-girl, like, second to Raihan cause no one can beat Raihan let’s just face it. All her money is from makeup + fashion sponsorships for their products, web traffic, and of course battling sponsorships. Which doubles the pressure to keep a good winning streak and look good while she’s at it.

-- are not allowed in Galar. This is out of Rose’s control naturally though he supports it fully. After all the league also has carefully placed power balances anyways. Customs notes on how delicate Galar’s environment is and what invasive species, handled or not, can disrupt that. It’s part of the reason why trainers need endorsement to join the gym challenge from accountable people. Course that doesn’t mean a handful don’t worm their way into the league anyways.
Rose however will AND HAS disqualified trainers before they can even make it to the first gym with their rattata. No one knows scorn and disappointment like this man’s.
her biggest e-drama happened with Raihan that lasted for weeks. Started with a little vague post on Twitter that quickly garnered retweets before she had a chance to delete it ( most likely never meant to post it cause all her media is carefully tailored ).
it sprung arguements between fans, reddit threads, those pretentious few that are like “lol im not getting into drama but-”, you name it. Did the two ever come out to talk about it? Who knows! It died suddenly into obscurity and there was nothing about it on either of their social media. Things went back to normal.
But to this day you can still find little its and bits of the drama in the archives of the net if you dig enough.
-- You know, years before the game starts. At the time Rose and Macro Cosmos were way smaller and just making heads in the Galar region. Influence was slow but growing thanks to their constant efforts in lobbying for change that can help the region.
Rose of course see’s his bright Galar starting at the younger generation especially for the ones that didn’t have much, aka the orphanage in Galar. Soon enough Macro Cosmos became it’s biggest benefactor with donations and the likes. Mr. Rose of course always has his head in the clouds; idealizing growth and talent that he assures in the youth. Bede however caught his eye on his visits.
Rose doesn’t quite listen to facts as much as he does his gut. Goodness knows how much of Macro Cosmos is built on reverie we have Oleana to thank for a lot of work, but that’s a HC for later, and there was just something about the young boy that didn’t escape his interest. He was different, zealous; proven further when Rose had given him his first Pokemon in which he quickly proven himself talented.
Wasn’t long before Rose pulled him from the orphanage completely. Even with all the time and money donated there was only so much room for Bede to really grow there. By then Rose was completely enamored -- pushing away that maybe a busy businessman on the cusp of a gargantuan company was really paternal material. But you know,,,Rose, “he’ll figure it out”.
For the first few years? Great. He can bounce Bede in one arm and take a memo in the other no problem. Expenses with living and training weren’t a problem either so long as they were seemingly happy.
As time goes and the business continues to grow however ..
