so i really debated about posting this vs just updating my rules quietly because a) i dont want to sound preachy and b) i dont want to sound like a broken record, but i'm going to start blocking if people use face altering mods for the bg3 characters.
mods are very fun. mod in some new hair options. mod in new clothes. mod in your character kissing karniss (yuck) or my fav "danny trejo is the moon" from fallout 4 mod. go wild with mods, have a blast, but mods that make characters "more attractive" or alter their appearances are, 9/10 times, just whitewashing them or making them more eurocentric even if it's done inadvertently or subconsciously.
people of color are already treated abysmally in most fantasy settings and narratives, if they're given the chance to exist at all. these mods effectively cut away at the poc aspects of a character's face, erasing them in favor of often unobtainable or blatantly white beauty standards. that's gross.
those mods make me nauseous and i just do not want to see them.
