while you’re enjoying the main festival activities, a man in a white-collared shirt approaches you. despite being dressed much more formally than any of the other music fest attendees, he doesn’t seem to have any shame or awkwardness, a casual confidence in his demeanor as he introduces himself.
“do you have a minute? i’m han chanhee. i work for studio delta, but not with jude who’s performing today. i’m a talent scout.” he hands you his business card and sure enough, it confirms everything he just said aloud. “we’re actually holding private auditions in a few weeks and were asked to invite anyone who we thought stood out in the crowd. you’re a good looking young person and if you’re here, you must like music. have you ever thought about becoming an artist before?”
he waits patiently for your response, a casual smile on his face as he watches you process everything he just said. there’s a hint of smugness to his expression, as if he feels like he’s doing you a favor by even talking to you. maybe he is; it’s not every day you get invited to audition at a major entertainment company.
“if you’re any good, we’ll want you as one of our trainees. you know our reputation, right? we’re creating artists, not just idols. if that’s something you’re up for, send me a message. my information is all there. we’ll look forward to seeing what you can do.”
chanhee takes a second to shake your hand and thank you for your time before he leaves, not wasting any time. he’s very efficient, but still polite.
you’re shitting me, is on the tip of jinyoung’s tongue but he has the sense to keep the words to himself. a studio delta scout? in the middle of the music fest? paying attention to him? there’s a vain part of jinyoung that doesn’t think that he should be surprised —just look at him, he’s easily one of the best looking people at the festival— but not even he is that conceited. studio delta? really?? he almost can’t believe it.
he’s sure to thank the scout, han chanhee, for his time. he never in his wildest dreams thought he’d have a shot; his goals were always set on lime entertainment where he could at least get by with his dance skills, not considering himself the most creative person the way studio delta is known for.
still, he pockets the card carefully, knowing that he’ll be reaching out as soon as he can to send an email to schedule his audition. shit. he needs to come up with something to do at said audition. well, he has time to prepare. he has to admit, he’s looking forward to this.
