An explanation of why Jorien refuses to go to class. It’s actually due to a characteristic of her autism. Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA) is a specific autism profile where she avoids everyday demands and expectations to an extreme extent. An idea turns unbearable if it feels like an expectation or demand. This can even apply to something she would otherwise do herself if it was her idea.

Jorien’s older brother (the one she’s cool with) sent her a necklace he made when she got accepted into Garreg Mach. He knows she likes plants. Sadly, she prefers neckties over necklaces, but she will still look at it and smile from time to time.
