“Lena?” Kara didn’t usually stick her head through Lena’s office door so tentatively. It was probably already a dead giveaway, but she smiled anyway, stepped one foot in and then the other, shutting the door behind her. It was late, late enough that L Corp building was mostly empty, except for Lena, of course. And it wasn’t the first time in the last few months that Kara had come to Lena’s office, long after work, in the quiet of the evening, on a night where the streets of National City were quiet. She didn’t usually feel this nervous though. The impulse to come here -- to do this -- had been on the tip of her tongue all day and the tip of anxious fingers drumming at her desk. Winn had noticed. Kara ignored it. But none of this was really ignorable. Not now. She was here now, entirely obviously nervous. Kara shoved her glasses back up her nose with one hand, a little too hard. “Are you busy? -- I mean of course you’re busy. I was just .. hoping we could talk.”
