Ayreontasia Inktober Days 3-4: Personal Favorite Lyric

Lotta really good lyrics in Ayreon but this lyric from The Sixth Extinction always resonated with me, it seems so simple but it’s so deep and frankly true!

Also I went back to traditional media with this one! I’m still relearning so it’s simpler but I still like how it turned out!

Okay, this one will need an explanation below.

I still feel the rising tides embrace me, carrying me to a place unknown...

But a memory...

My favourite thing about Beneath The Waves is how seemingly no time passes until the Forever "rise from the depts below". The contrast between the calm world of the past and the harsh reality we know from the previous songs of 01011001 both on lyrical and instrumental level is fascinating to me.

(Also, don't you think that it sounds so much like an analogy for childhood memories - the melancholic feeling, the idealistic description, the feeling that the clock didn't start ticking until you passed a certain border? I get this feeling every time I hear the song and absolutely makes me want to cry, help...)

But yeah, this doodle is based on this impression I got and the whole song, even though I started just from the mentioned verses.
