            I think my two favorite inventions that Violet has made in canon are the grappling hook in TBB, though I do prefer the way it was made in the N.etflix series if I’m being honest, & the lockpick in The Reptile Room (both things taken away from her in the movie but let’s not get into that, especially when it comes to the grappling hook or else I’m going to be ranting for hours). However, the favorite one of my own creation is one I’ve talked a little bit about before & that’s the devise she’s made inside of her boot, which holds several small items so she can use them in case she’s trapped or something (a lockpick, a pocket knife, a clip holding several different types of tools, ect).

            As for the second question, I definitely think it goes back to the grappling hook & the reason she invented it in the first place. While she could’ve been plotting for a way to get out of getting married to Olaf, instead she was making something to save her sister—– showing that, no matter how much danger she was in herself, her siblings always came first. Not only that, but it’s in this scene where the promise Violet made to her parents is first brought up, both in the books & the show, something that is incredibly important to her character.

Each of her muses movements caused tears to well up within powder blue eyes, blinked away as quickly as they had formed. No, no crying. The sentiment might feet foreign from another person, but that was no reason for tears. Not in front of her.

She allowed a taut smile into her expression, empty hand raised and placed on Chell’s outstretched arm. A gentle pat onto said arm, meeting her gaze. “… I’m grateful for you too.”

She hates how much Chel’s words wound her. Not because they are inconsiderate or cold, but because it shone a light on a part of herself that she would never be able to figure out. Perion blinks and a tear drops down her cheek, she wipes it away roughly. “I don’t know if I have the answers, Chell,” she says thickly. “But I’ll try my best.”
