On 2 February 2022, the Duchess of Cambridge visited the Twickenham Stadium in London for her first engagement as the patron of England Rugby where she met the coaching staff, the referees and the players.
Catherine spoke with the members of the England Men's Squad about their opening match against Scotland in the Six Nations Tournament.
She also spent time speaking to the Women's team about their upcoming Six Nations tournament and the World Cup in New Zealand to be held later this year and talked about how the pandemic has impacted the sport in these two years.
During her visit Catherine also took part in the morning training drills alongside the players. During the session, she scored a try, joined in a scrum and was lifted in a line-out by the players.
