today wouldn't be complete without our signature drink, horchata! and I made sure to get a picture of the restaurant this time!
every now and then I'd see something and think to myself, "oh, you would like that." today, it was seeing the uga buses be all electric now. thankfully I managed to snag a picture of it.
I didn't get to spend as much time on campus today since there's classes going on and its super packed everywhere. kinda funny, on weekends it gets busy at the park, but not so much on campus, and vice versa. but I think I'd rather take the park being empty (and campus busy) than the other way around. I reallyyy need to visit the creamery one of these years. but it's just so...in the middle of no where and idk where I'd park that would be close to it during the weekday. and it's closed on weekends so that doesn't help. ugh.
anyways, I'm sorry I had to cut today's day short. it being a weekday (which means traffic later on) plus it being so packed on campus PLUS needing to do some work when I get back means I had to hurry back home. it was nice writing to you again, even though you'll never see any of this. until next year then, love. I love you.
this year, we’re eating at the panera in athens we used to go to. and of course we have to go with the asian sesame chicken salad. the salad that you introduced me to all those years ago, which I still eat to this day from time to time. remember back when they discontinued the salad for a while and we were so sad? I’m glad they eventually brought it back. panera wouldn’t be the same without it.
hi love. today is 2/26/24. it’s a very pretty and quiet monday morning. finally a day without being overcast or busy/noisy.
some things that have happened in the past year; I finally got a new job doing home health now. ever since I hurt my back, I just couldn’t do acute care anymore. plus I’m making a lot more money than I was at the hospital. the only downside is that I have to take home work with me a lot of the times. we also adopted two kittens and bought a new house in duluth. life has been pretty hectic lately, but I think it’s finally calming down a bit.
it’s been 5 years since we parted ways and 4 years in a row where I’ve come to this very spot just to reminisce our time together. sometimes I wonder if you ever do the same. and I wonder how you would react if you knew I took this annual pilgrimage to the park and athens just to torture myself. I’ve debated on how long I should keep doing this, as I have to let you go eventually. but idk, I just think of it as reconnecting with a long lost friend. and even though you’re not the same girl I fell in love with all those years ago, it’s still comforting talking to the memory of you. and I think that’s what’s hard to let go of. admittedly, you haven’t been in my thoughts as much lately in the past year, although from time to time you visit me in my dreams. I wish you’d stop doing that lol. seeing you, even an imaginary you, still hurts and makes me think of what could have been.
I need to get going soon. going to walk along the trail and head out to eat. next stop, athens!
phewww I walked so much today, love. I went to the other side of the park today to the pond where we first had our walks before we went to the side where the dog park is. I had completely forgotten that we started out here on this side! it was definitely a nice change of scenery compared to the usual route I take. but I think that just about wraps it up for today. my feet, shoulders, and back are so sore from all the walking lol. as always, I love you, and even though I’m no longer carrying around the wallet you gave me, you’ll forever be with me in my heart, no matter where I go. looking forward to writing to you again next year, love ❤️
