Quarantine Day #3: Today was...long. Online class felt like I was teaching a student I’ve never taught because it felt like she didn’t remember anything. Ever. That we’ve ever done. I may just be cynical and I hope I am, but I also hope she’s actually learning. Made some chocolate chip cookies and tried to relax a bit, but forgot about our stupid grade team meeting (aka more fcking screen time). Then got to do a 30 minute aerobic dance class which was super fun. Soaked in the tub for a bit. Then unfortunately had 1.5 hours of student time again. My throat feels so hash from talking so much. Just so much work it’s insane. Baked a cake for no fcking reason. My kids from home called and that was really nice to hear from them. Made some turkey burger sliders (featured here) with cheese and King’s Hawaiian sweet rolls. Nommmmm. Then finally got a little nap in. But I left the window open just a crack, and now my throat feels like death. Reflecting on today, I made a lot of desserts and consumed a lot of sugar. But I also consumed almost a gallon of water (I’m still going). I feel good. Let’s do this.

Two weeks ago I was planning for a week off work. Thinking about renting a cabin up in the mountains to get away from everything, relax and recharge. Then this happened. I became terrified after walking into the store and seeing how empty the shelves were. I've known there are no certainties in life but I at least felt like I wouldn't have to worry about not being able to get 25 cent noodles. I'm not as scared. Things are not as extreme here yet. Slowed down, which is kind of a good thing. But I'm just waiting for when the news comes out that we have to stay in. Try to figure out what to do then. How long will it be? What will we have? What will we lose? Trying to keep moving forward. Trying to keep hope. I don't know what will happen. I'm just trying to make peace with that and just breathe.
