I already noticed this problem many years before the current situation… But “what the heck is it” with people who just can’t get in a line? Like at a convenience store or gas station?

Again the situation has happened many many times but currently one of the gas stations I go to has a little numbers on the floor stating where each customer should go in a line. Separated of course for personal space during the pandemic.

When I come up to the register area, customer number one is at the counter and customer two should be a few more feet away on the “number two“ panel. Of course that dude is up the ass of customer number one.

So now customer number two is customer number one, buying his $80 worth of scratcher tickets (which boggles me, but not the problem). Me, being number two, politely stands on the number two box. Now a fellow wants to be customer number three. Number 3’s spot is behind me and there are no other customers.

This fellow gets so itchy about the prospect of having to stand in line instead of just walking a couple of feet (not even 6 feet) behind me, he paces back-and-forth in a triangular pattern about 3 feet to my right between me and customer number one and various product stands.

It’s like, dude, what is the problem with standing in a pattern for a minute?

Before this pandemic I was in a situation where an obvious “people lineup this way” place was set up with a separating ribbon like a movie theater or something. So there were already two customers waiting in line properly I was the third this dude was standing off to the side. When the first customer is over the second lady was going to be helped and this dude exploded because “he was there before she was”. Now I know this fellow had a little bit of a racism problem involving this one, and he was mad at both of the ladies but the lady worker tried to calm him and the rightful next customer gave him her place. Then whatever he wanted to do was something they couldn’t actually do, and he stormed out and I thought for shit it was going to be a murder situation.

Also Before this pandemic I noticed this stupid problem happening many many times in other places. At a counter with two registers you would think Hey! two lines! So each register would have one or two customers in line and then the other three people were just milling about midline uncomfortably. What is wrong with you?

The fuck is wrong with America?!?
