April 1979 ad for Marvel Comic. I liked that logo and it's based on the Ms. Marvel logo that appeared on the last few issues of that title from 1978/1979. Dracula Lives art above by Gene Colan. Marvel UK.

Probably the most famous picture of a Stormtrooper firing a cloud of orange smoke...ever! Don't know whether he is celebrating the Twelfth here in Norn Ireland or the latest win by Max Verstappen. Photo cover on Star Wars Weekly No. 58, dated 4 April 1979. This is the same image that was used on the backing card of the Stormtrooper action figure from Kenner (and the UK Palitoy version). The Stormtrooper was one of the original 12 figures released in 1978. Always felt cheated by the use of this image though as it shows two Stormtroopers but you only got one action figure. Grrrrr. Marvel UK.
Buddy No. 8, dated 4 April 1981. I think the cover artist here is Brian Delaney. The interior Boy on the Run strip is drawn by Carlos Cruz.
Also inside was news of a great new strip - Wingfoot, which featured art by Denis McLoughlin. This meant that his artwork was appearing in both this strip and Hammer! at the same time. As far as I know neither strip was a reprint.
DC Thomson.
Judy No. 1108, dated 4 April 1981. Bobtail the Beach Rescue cover by Norman Lee. Mary Foster and Bobtail were the only beach rescue team at Ambersea until that bounder Mr Foster, the local holiday camp owner, set up a rival team! DC Thomson.
Battle Action No. 309, dated 4 April 1981. Charley's War cover art by Joe Colquhoun. Treasury of British Comics.
Battle with Storm Force No. 622, dated 4 April 1987. Johnny Red cover by John Cooper. Treasury of British Comics.
Warlord No. 341, dated 4 April 1981. The Best of Enemies cover by Terry Patrick. DC Thomson.
