Reeeeaaaached level 35 today in EoS! My superior llama and saint bernard mounts expired. ;-; I already miss my doggie mount. Still have, like, 3 days with my anteater pet.
I changed my sorceress’ path with that amnesia I got yesterday from firemage to frostmage. So she is now a frostmage. And I like it better actually. I’m glad I changed. I feel like I’ve been doing better at pvp since changing. And pve kills seem easier too. A bit. Could also be because I’m pretty overleveled than all the things I’m killing, though, too. Been getting a lot of experience from doing battlefields.
Did that solo dungeon I ragequit yesterday and completed it! With some helpful tips from online. lol I was far too focused on the wrong thing during that forest spirit boss fight. I did die a few times, but not as many as yesterday so that’s good. So I was really proud of myself when I finally cleared that dungeon.
Did quests and did battlefield. I think we won one round and lost the others. Can’t quite remember, but man, I can understand the frustration some of the other players have during battlefield.
When people don’t know what they’re doing, they stick together, which helps nothing because everyone’s gathered in one place while a few other players are trying their hardest to run around the map taking over bases. And while that can be helpful since we’ve got a large group essentially distracting a part of the opposing team while a few of our others sneak away to claim those bases, it’s actually pretty stupid and a pretty bad idea. Because everyone’s gathered in one place and the opposing team is also going around taking bases and then our teammates are left to die with no backup if they get cornered.
But still, players are still learning what to do there and I think the more time they do battlefield the more confident they’ll be to venture off and not stick together in one giant mob. More like a 2-3, maybe even 4-person group and we’re good. Idk.
Another thing I really fucking hate is when someone hops off their mount to claim a base and the others that went rushing to get to it first (teammates) just fucking leave the player alone while they’re busy switching the light from the opposing color to our color. That takes a few seconds to complete. And do you know what can happen in a few seconds if you’re left completely alone and completely FUCKING VULNERABLE WITH NO BACKUP AND A SMALL GROUP OF THE OPPOSING TEAM IS HEADED YOUR WAY??? Yeah, you can get fucking killed in the span of a few seconds because YOUR FUCKING TEAMMATES LEFT YOU TO FEND FOR YOURSELF BECAUSE “OH I’M GONNA BE THE FIRST ONE TO CLAIM THE NEXT BASE GOOD LUCK FIGHTING OFF A TON OF WARRIORS, ROGUES, GUARDIANS, OR SORCERESSES ALONE!!!!1111!!!!1!”
Maybe a class with a higher hp can manage on their own a bit but even they can get overpowered and quickly killed. So just imagine a small mage with less hp than all the other classes left completely alone to fend for herself because her teammates were dicks and decided to leave and not stick around to help in case she needed it. >:^(
Can you tell this has happened to me before??? Because it fucking has. Multiple times! Idk, man, but I would think it’s just commonsense to not leave a teammate completely vulnerable while they’re doing something like that.
Or maybe since I wait for people to finish claiming a base, I kinda expect that same courtesy. If I KNOW for a fact they can finish that up and catch up to us at the next base with no threat of the opposing team killing them, then I hop on my mount and follow everyone else to the next base. I tend to do that when we’ve just started a game because there really is no threat just yet. I wait with the teammate once everyone’s pretty scattered on the map.
Also, I can’t tell you how many times I’ve been fighting and then suddenly start getting attacked from behind that I realize my teammates have retreated and I was the only one still fighting. By that point it’s pretty hard to escape, but I still try and just wind up getting killed.
Plus, also, just to put into perspective how fast a member of the opposing team can reach you while you’re trying to retake a base... Today during one of the battlefield games, I respawned at a base in the middle of the map with all the bases very close by, surrounding it so I could’ve had my pick of going to any of the bases I wanted to. But I set my sights on one of the bases that had no people from the opposing team or teammates near it. I chose one that was alone, one I thought I could reclaim before anyone realized and could get to me to kill me. So when I saw the last few little red dots head away from the base, I hauled ass to it and got behind it so I was kinda hidden and started the whole biz of changing the color to our color. So while my little sorceress is doing this (takes a few seconds as I said), I noticed a red dot quickly approaching and in my head, I was just thinking, “Shit! Hopefully I can get this done before they reach me.” FUCKIN NOPE! Had like 3 or 4 seconds left when I was attacked and snapped out of what I was doing. It was a rogue, so knowing there was no way I could kill him, I tried to escape but I can’t remember if he killed me or if his teammates arrived and helped kill me. The point is that I died. When I was so very close to reclaiming that base. And that is why it pisses me off that people leave teammates alone while they’re doing that. Because I just had like 3 seconds left and that base would’ve been ours! Calling up my mount would’ve taken a few more seconds and getting out of there probably wouldn’t have been possible, but I would’ve taken the base even if they would’ve quickly reclaimed it. And pretty sure those points would’ve still gone to us and then them, but we still would’ve gotten points.
That actually happened before. I took over a base, got killed not too long after I’d reclaimed it, and the other team took it back. It was kinda frustrating. lol
Still, though, I’m never really quite angry whenever we don’t win. As long as I managed to kill and assist in kills, I’m pretty happy. Speaking of which, during one game, I scored the highest number of kills and assisted kills I’ve ever done! I was so proud of myself! I believe it was 7 kills, 11 assists, and 5 claims. Idk what to call the third point group. But it’s how many times you’ve reached the thing both teams were after. I was really proud of myself for that!
Sometimes I still get confused and just “what am I doing?? where do I go??” during battlefields. But I think I’m getting the hang of it and getting more confident. Still not so much that I’ll take on a small group. I can barely take out one person alone tbh. ;-;
But eh. It was a productive day. This seems to be a battlefield rant, though. lol Ah, well....
