END OF EUCROMA PART I.
WHOAH SO EUCROMA IS OVER
i didnt mean to abandon this blog, but the last few weeks were crazy and real life hit in hard - not that its a bad thing tho.
So lets see what i remember from the last week:
My last post was about Distortions in Refshaleøen, which means wwe spent 3 day in the middle of a techno festival and our office buliding and our caravans were literally surrounded by drunk (and drugged) house and techno fans. Since i knew what to expect it wasnt that bad. I moved to an empty dormroom for that weekend, so i didnt have to sleep in the caravan that was shaking and vibrating for 3 days.
So from june 7 to june 11:
we worked all day and all night long because the presentation was on wednesday
thank god i got it pretty easy at the end, since i was only drawing the concepts and Jack had to render them which sucked a lot more.
it was really fun and it was great working with everyone, except our storyworld director (this is a eucroma term, she's kinda like director/lead writer) who is a really nice girl, but i dont like her as a director - she's pretty much a dictator type of director who dont really care about the people she works with. If i wanted a mindless job i would have been an animator (no offense).
She also sacrifised the product for the presentation for the big company representetives, which i dont agree with.
but it was just a minor problem and generally people were amazing
i didnt have things to do after 10 pm on the last day, but i stayed there anyway and was wandering around in the buliding, bothering hard working people and made dinner fro the team from random food at 1 am with two amazing scottish guys :D
only slept 5 hours
the presentation started at 9.30, we were the first ones and we handed out mojitos at the begining so i we arrived early to make them. It was a hilarious disaster with 2 game designers who barely slept
The presentation went well for all 3 teams
after that we had a quick meeting with the company representatives, they liked out project and what they pointed out were exactly the problems we didnt fix because we rather focused on the presentation itself so it was a very important lesson for me. and im glad i didnt have to learn it from my own mistake :D
we had a light afterparty, but we were all tired and went to bed early because some of us didnt even sleep.
June 12. -
we had a longer and meeting with the executives where we got more detailed feedbacks and it was great
it was also the day of the Showcase, where we were streaming our animation shorts and showed our games to people in an open happening in the Danish Filmschool
I had to be there too, but since i was "only" the concept artist i was really helpful, because we only needed one person to explain people how the game works when they tryed it.
so me Martin, the leve designer drunk wine from fancy glasses all morning and had a really great time.
and the end it was just the eucroma students having fun with each others games, haha
we had to stay there for a meeting with the eucroma bosses and give them feedbacks about the project - it was also nice!
When we finally finished we went to have burgers in town, walk in Christiania and spent the rest of the night on the roof of the Eucroma building. Copenhell - a heavy metal festival - was also on that week and we could see it from there, haha it was much better than distortion :P
It was an amazing night with amazing people. A worthy ending of this hard, but super fun week.
To be continued
today i had a flower in my hair and it fell right on the starberry jam toast while i was having breakfast. at first i was like 'aww man', but then i realized it actually looks pretty neat.
