man, i miss Copenhagen so much
Bwah, the WiFi is crap in the hotel and I don't have my laptop with me in the school, I won't be able to post anything til I'm here.... I'll try to write about my days tho, because reading back my denmark- posts is really good, they help me remember fun things I probably would have forgotten already :) At the moment I'm on very boring editing class.... I'm starting to suspect the teacher thinks we don't even know what film is....... "M'kay?....Understand what I'm saying....?" We're going to the city later, I have to survive this......
HEY PEOPLE WHO FORGOT TO UNFOLLOW THIS BLOG! I'm in another international project in this semester! Its called Essemble and the goal is similar to the Eucromas: making a short film! So I'm in Lisbon this week! \o/ Lots of work and awesome lectures and even more FLYING! But I'll give you the details later, my internet connection is very crappy at the moment
MELTDOWN - OUR GAME AND ANIMATION ARE FINALLY RELEASED
Yo babes, thanks for sticking around despite im being prettty dead here lately. I can assure you its only because real life is prettty busy right now and im working on stuff.
ANYWAYS
Most of you know this already, but for the newbies: i was participating in an international Cross Media project in the past 5 months in Denmark, organised by the Danish Filmschool.
We had to develop a storyworld and from that, create a game and a short animation. Im proud to announce that we’ve succeeded!
I was one of the “concept artists”, but since there were only two of us it was a pretty flexible role.
Things i did:
character design
game design
environmental design
storyboards
concept art layouts and a (very) few colour concepts
AND NOW, HERES OUR GAME AND ANIMATION!
Be careful tho, its not a story for the sensitive souls and we’re not here to pat you on the head and tell you everything will be alright:
MeltDown is a satirical comedy with traditional danish humor about Gus, an alcoholic polar bear who suffers from depression because his home is melting. But when all the penguins move up to the north pole because the south pole’s melted he decides its time to take actions and teams up with a mentally instable treehugger girl, Daisy, to save the world. Unfortunately he sucks at it because…. well… he’s a polar bear.
Find out all about the storyworld and our characters ON OUR WEBSITE
And this is where YOU CAN WATCH OUR SHORT FILM AND DOWNLOAD OUR GAME (its game for android tablets) (there are some major problems with the animation, but we barely had time to finish it…)
For more art, check out my blog
You can also read more about the other two teams works, they have done a really great job as well!
(and for christs sake, please dont reblog this (or anything else) as a link)
For those who dont follow my main blog:
OUR PRODUCTS ARE ONLINE NOW \o/
The animation would have needed a few more weeks, but the game is totally playable and only has a few minor bugs! If u have a tablet, give it a try, i cant stop playing it :D

END OF EUCROMA PART III
Monday:
was great, i slept a lot
in the evening we went to Christinaia beach with julian, Gian, Remy, Ivan and Dario
there was an amazing dog
i touched a jellyfish
i went to bed pretty early after saying goodbye to everyone which was awful :,(
i barely slept anything because packing was a little stressful
THUESDAY
WAS MY LAST DAY 8C
in the morning i decided to go home in my winter boots and winter coat because otherwise my stuff would have fit into my suitcase...
i still had to leave a few books behind for julian to send it to me in the mail
he helped me bringing my super heavy stuff to the shuttle bus too
on the bus i heard and saw hungarian people at the first time in 5 months and it literally made me sick
when the bus left copenhagen i realized theres nothing in this country that would woth coming back for, except my family and 2 friend
malmö airport is so beautiful! and it was pretty empty
i got to sit by the window again!! \o/
i love flying, i love it so much, you have no idea, its not healty
it was so sad to get home, but at least my mom was there :)
getting home was not very exciting, because it was only 5 months. it was just... confusing :/ it was weird and not at the same time :D
i slept through the rest of the day, because in the last week i only slept randomly, a few hourse a day
END OF EUCROMA PART II.
SO friday:
it was pretty lame, everybody was tired. there was a bbq party in the evening at the UTI - its a unveristy
but it was lame
we went to the sailor pub in christiania and it was nice but i went home early
i just went to bed
it was a pretty lame day P:
UNLIKE SATURDAY
we were suppose to got to the beach but everybody slep long because they were partying so i went to town with Stephen and his siter Toni and they friend Megan
they're scottish and they're amazing
scottish people are my people
we almost went to the city by bus but in the last minute i suggested that we ashould take the harbor bus, because the girls only arrived on wednesday and they've never tried it
we went to te stop and it was sunny and the water beautiful and i leaned over the fnece to see it better AND MY SUNGLASSES FELL INTO THE WATER
I WATCHED THEM SLOWLY SINK
now they are in the bottom of the North Sea, but i guess itsa much cooler way to lose your sunglasses than leaving them on the bus or something so its okay
we walked around in the city, went to the disney store and lego store, bough stuff for our families at home and i got myself a univesity of copenhagen hoodie :D
took a loot of pictures and had a lot of fun
we went to have dinner at Wagamama's, a japanese restuarant
it was a very very very very nice day
on the way back we bough plastic toy swords :D
when we got back, the international closing party has begun, people were grilling stuff and chatting by the canal
but at the end it was just a bunch of grown ups running around with plastic swords and cardboard shileds
when it got cold we went inside and listented to music, went to the roof and watch dorky youtube videos til 4 am
another very great day
SUNDAY
it was a very very sad day because stephen and the girls were leaving on monday, at 4 am, tey were the first ones who left from our group of friends
so we decided not to sleep that evening
me, Ivan and Mariam watched futurama in the morning
thennnn..... oh man, i dont remember, the others were playing with the Game of Thrones boardgame....
thennnnn.....
YEAH then we went to the city and then me, toni, stephen, megan and remy went to christiania
we had to get back at 6 because few a poeple were leaving in the evening so soppy goodbyes has begun
at night we were all very tired but nobody wanted to go to sleep because it was our last night together so we were tired, bored and sad :D
around 2 am we started to watch a series. i dont remember what, because we fell asleep on the beanbags til the taxi arrived at 4
it was a very very sad goodbye :,(
but now i have a lot of great friends in scottland and ill always have place to stay there :)
me, Ivan, and Noémi were all heartbroken so we watched Futurama til Noémi's letf too at 7 am
i went home to pack my stuff
i slept a bit
and it actually already monday, tbc....
END OF EUCROMA PART I.
WHOAH SO EUCROMA IS OVER
i didnt mean to abandon this blog, but the last few weeks were crazy and real life hit in hard - not that its a bad thing tho.
So lets see what i remember from the last week:
My last post was about Distortions in Refshaleøen, which means wwe spent 3 day in the middle of a techno festival and our office buliding and our caravans were literally surrounded by drunk (and drugged) house and techno fans. Since i knew what to expect it wasnt that bad. I moved to an empty dormroom for that weekend, so i didnt have to sleep in the caravan that was shaking and vibrating for 3 days.
So from june 7 to june 11:
we worked all day and all night long because the presentation was on wednesday
thank god i got it pretty easy at the end, since i was only drawing the concepts and Jack had to render them which sucked a lot more.
it was really fun and it was great working with everyone, except our storyworld director (this is a eucroma term, she's kinda like director/lead writer) who is a really nice girl, but i dont like her as a director - she's pretty much a dictator type of director who dont really care about the people she works with. If i wanted a mindless job i would have been an animator (no offense).
She also sacrifised the product for the presentation for the big company representetives, which i dont agree with.
but it was just a minor problem and generally people were amazing
i didnt have things to do after 10 pm on the last day, but i stayed there anyway and was wandering around in the buliding, bothering hard working people and made dinner fro the team from random food at 1 am with two amazing scottish guys :D
only slept 5 hours
the presentation started at 9.30, we were the first ones and we handed out mojitos at the begining so i we arrived early to make them. It was a hilarious disaster with 2 game designers who barely slept
The presentation went well for all 3 teams
after that we had a quick meeting with the company representatives, they liked out project and what they pointed out were exactly the problems we didnt fix because we rather focused on the presentation itself so it was a very important lesson for me. and im glad i didnt have to learn it from my own mistake :D
we had a light afterparty, but we were all tired and went to bed early because some of us didnt even sleep.
June 12. -
we had a longer and meeting with the executives where we got more detailed feedbacks and it was great
it was also the day of the Showcase, where we were streaming our animation shorts and showed our games to people in an open happening in the Danish Filmschool
I had to be there too, but since i was "only" the concept artist i was really helpful, because we only needed one person to explain people how the game works when they tryed it.
so me Martin, the leve designer drunk wine from fancy glasses all morning and had a really great time.
and the end it was just the eucroma students having fun with each others games, haha
we had to stay there for a meeting with the eucroma bosses and give them feedbacks about the project - it was also nice!
When we finally finished we went to have burgers in town, walk in Christiania and spent the rest of the night on the roof of the Eucroma building. Copenhell - a heavy metal festival - was also on that week and we could see it from there, haha it was much better than distortion :P
It was an amazing night with amazing people. A worthy ending of this hard, but super fun week.
To be continued
After 5 long amazing months and a really long week watching the characters that i designed coming to life at the EUCROMA presentation!
Im super depressed im going home soon, but this semester was the best thing ever, and i learned more about the creative and production process of a cartoon series than i ever will in my uni. I wish i could come back next year. Totally worth it!
today i had a flower in my hair and it fell right on the starberry jam toast while i was having breakfast. at first i was like 'aww man', but then i realized it actually looks pretty neat.
whoa, so, all i do is work lately, presentation is close, next wednesday and we have a lot of shit to draw for it.
Have a picture of my desk til im done.
Its also settled that im going home on the 17th :( my dad and his fiance were suppose to come but then they couldnt so im going home by plane. Which is okay because i love flying, but it would have been nice if they could come.
Distortion is on btw, so since 2pm, its a party down there! Im ready to not sleep til sunday morning, ahahahah
ABOUT TIME TO POST SOME WORKS HERE PART 2
and now for something techincal - props designs for the game and random stoyboard frames!
ABOUT TIME TO POST SOME WORKS HERE PART 1
it may look like i dont do anything but take pictures of shit i find around Refshaleøen, but NO, i actually draw shitton of stuff too. Character designs, layouts, game designs, stoyboards and concept arts, this is just a few of the many. Click on them for captions.
some pictures from the family weekend, everything was beauitful~
every tuesday Rigger Michael, who works in a bakery, brough us fresh pastries and today was the last Pastry Tuesday :(
Danish pastries are hella rad
i finished the storyboard today, YESSS....
then i went for a tour on the harbor bus from one end to the other and then back, it was fun!
the best part was when we reached the stops because those bastard have 2 engines on them, one on the front one on the back, and they way they're drifting in those tiny stops is pretty mental.
and when we crashed the big waves that came from other boats.
then i went for a walk, because Refshaleoen is an abandond shipyard and you can find cool stuff like huge, rusty hooks and old ropes as thick as your leg. they were so heavy, i couldnt move them!
wonderful day spent whit working, because we have a deadline on sunday evening (and i still dont have a pin code, so all the money i can access to rn is 10 krones, pfh)
same for tomorrow, i still have a lot to finish, but im planning to go for a ride on the harbor bus, becuase I CANT FUCKING LEAVE COPENHAGEN WITHOUT DOINT IT goddamit
