Some words on my lips take seat in assurance, and they never leave. They make home until I’m forced to utter them, just to lighten the burden that chokes my throat. Did I abandon you or was I abandoned? I could blame me and it would be so easy, but what if you were the one who left me? If you whisper the answer in my ears while I’m sleeping, I fear sleep will never be my companion henceforth. How could the things I love just up and walk away?
