Mon environnement sous forme de carte
Le logement est ma première source d’attention pendant ces premières semaines à Hambourg. Michael et Julien m’ont chaleureusement accueilli dans leur colocation mais leur contrat se termine le 28 août et je dois trouver un logement pour les 9 mois que je vais passer ici ce qui me laisse un mois pour trouver quelque chose.
Notre appartement est situé à Altona qui est un quartier particulièrement prisé par les employés du parc aéronautique de Finkenwerder. Depuis la station centrale d’Altona un bus spécial se rend jusqu’à la station de ferry de Teufelsbrück sans aucun arrêt intermédiaire. Il ne reste alors plus qu’à traverser l’Elbe en bateaux jusqu’à Rüschpark pour se rendre au travail. C’est la solution la plus idéale pour vivre dans un des quartiers les plus animés d’Hambourg tout en passant le moins de temps possible dans les transports le matin (25 min).
Malheureusement la situation du logement à Hambourg est très compliquée et la demande à Altona très forte, il peut donc parfois être nécessaire d’habiter dans un des autres quartiers autour qui sont facilement accessibles en S-bahn (équivalent du RER parisien) comme Sternschanze, Eimsbüttel ou Sankt Pauli. La chance et la malchance que j’ai eu d’atterrir directement à Altona c’est que désormais je ne me vois pas habiter plus loin et je restreins donc mes recherches au seul quartier d’Altona.
En échangeant avec mes collègues et ceux qui sont ici depuis quelques temps, j’apprends également que je vais surement être obligé d’élever un peu le budget initialement et que plusieurs d’entre eux ont dû déménager régulièrement pendant de longs mois avant de trouver un logement permanent.
Housing is my first source of attention during those first weeks in Hamburg. Michael and Julien warmly welcomed me into their flatshare but their contract ends on 28 August and I have to find an accommodation for the 9 months to come which leaves me a month to find something.
Our apartment is located in Altona, which is an area particularly popular among employees of Finkenwerder’s Aerospace center. From the central station of Altona, a special bus goes to the Teufelsbrück ferry station with no intermediate stops. Then I only have to cross the Elbe with the ferry up to Rüschpark to go to work. This is the ideal solution to live in one of trendiest areas of Hamburg while spending minimal time in transport in the morning (25 min).
Unfortunately the housing situation in Hamburg is very complicated and the demand is very high in Altona, so it can sometimes be necessary to live in other neighborhoods around that are easily accessible by S-bahn like Sternschanze, Eimsbüttel or Sankt Pauli. Fortunately and unfortunately I landed directly in Altona so now I cannot picture myself living any further and I am therefore restricting my research in the one neighborhood of Altona.
By discussing with my colleagues and those who have been here for some time, I also learned that I'll probably have to raise slightly my initial budget and that several of them had to move regularly, from one place to another, for months before finding permanent housing.
