You tuck your four-year-old son in, wind his music box, say, “See you first thing in the morning.”

But everything goes wrong.

So you paint a sigil on a door and chant the words: cnila pvgo cnila. You tumble through time, and crash into the lives of two rough and distrusting young men.

Your grandsons.

But where is your son?

He is dead.

It all went wrong.

You try to get back, to make it all right, but these young men need you… and they’re your blood. So you stay.

Shed your blood.
