Waiting on our Forever

We use forever so lightly. We threw it around in casual conversation as if it were just another meaningless word. We use forever to describe a long time, or what we deemed as a long time. Forever is so much more.

Forever can be a million years

It can be 365 days

Forever can be a week of passion

Hours of anguish

5 seconds of happiness

Forever can be a flashing instant

A touch

A look

A kiss

Forever are the memories made with the people we'll never forget

Forever is that song that brings you back to that specific moment

Forever is that place with the same table, the same people and the same drinks

Forever is the first time I saw you and you picked me up and twirled me around all night

Forever are the flashbacks of hazy sunrises and endless kisses

Forever is that cold night we fell asleep and woke up still holding hands

Forever is waiting patiently for you to one day miss me

Forever will be seeing you once more

Forever will be watching your eyes sparkle for someone else

Forever will be not having you for my entire life

I’ll forever be waiting on our forever.
