Take pride in how far you have come and have faith in how far you can go.

24
A lot can happen in a year. On the 18th of December of last year I can honestly say I was lost as ever; I had a job I hated but no idea what I actually wanted to do. I regretted not having a hobby aside from binge drinking on the weekends. I was broke AF and though I didn’t always act like it, I was scared and lonely.
Didn’t have much hopes for 23. 22 had been a year of change and accepting the adult life I had to face for the rest of eternity. So what else would be new by age 23? Apparently, a lot was about to happen.
I jumped at an opportunity of a dream job, doing what I loved the most, making more money and (hopefully) changing the world. That quickly came to an end. Within 6 months I was without a job, in the middle of the summer and with 2 trips already booked. Somewhere in between I met someone who taught me that although your whole world might be falling apart, when they’re there, it’s all somehow better. Way better.
Life was kind enough to fix my situation, and make me jump even higher. Within 2 weeks I was offered a position at an amazing company. I travelled and had my #jetsettingJuly. I fell in love with a paradise island; I quickly learned it doesn’t matter where you are but who you are with. I came home happier than ever.
People left me at 23. But better people came along, and even better people stuck around. I learned to be happy with what I have, while always striving to be better. I learned to appreciate those who appreciate me and treat me well. I learned to push away the people that needed to be shunned. I learned to be confident and proud of who I am, and how to tell those that don’t like it to royally f… off.
I am slowly but surely building the idea of what I want my future to be like. I’ve learned that I’m only better because of the people that surround me. I have come to realize that those who have helped me along the way are who truly matter. I’ve learned that love is the most powerful feeling that can fuel your life and it’s the only thing that can change things for the best. I have come to appreciate true friendships more than ever.
Who new 23 was going to be this eye opening and good to me?!
Now, it’s on to 24! Couldn’t be more excited.
I’ve started to set the foundations for what I want for the next few years. I am thankful for every single one of you that continues to be a pillar of strength and love in my life. Thank you, Winnie (Elsa) for always being a text/instagram/Snapchat away. I thank God for showing me what true love is. I thank my family for being there through thick and thin. I thank Javi for giving me the best 6 months I’ve ever had. I’m thankful to be able to wake up on this day and have more than anyone could ever need.
And I can hardly wait for what’s to come...

I just love that feeling when things are about to change. Like when you know that in a few seconds you’re going to do something and become someone else.

Human beings are funny. They long to be with the person they love but refuse to admit openly. Some are afraid to show even the slightest sign of affection because of fear. Fear that their feelings may not be recognized, or even worst, returned. But one thing about human beings puzzles me the most is their conscious effort to be connected with the object of their affection even if it kills them slowly within.

Waiting on our Forever
We use forever so lightly. We threw it around in casual conversation as if it were just another meaningless word. We use forever to describe a long time, or what we deemed as a long time. Forever is so much more.
Forever can be a million years
It can be 365 days
Forever can be a week of passion
Hours of anguish
5 seconds of happiness
Forever can be a flashing instant
A touch
A look
A kiss
Forever are the memories made with the people we'll never forget
Forever is that song that brings you back to that specific moment
Forever is that place with the same table, the same people and the same drinks
Forever is the first time I saw you and you picked me up and twirled me around all night
Forever are the flashbacks of hazy sunrises and endless kisses
Forever is that cold night we fell asleep and woke up still holding hands
Forever is waiting patiently for you to one day miss me
Forever will be seeing you once more
Forever will be watching your eyes sparkle for someone else
Forever will be not having you for my entire life
I’ll forever be waiting on our forever.
‘cause we never go out of style
