the list of things that No Longer Happen since i’ve stopped eating gluten is like... extensive. i think a lot of people do not understand that celiac wreaks havoc on your body and drastically reduces quality of life/life expectation when it goes untreated

like. things that don’t happen anymore (yucky body things described under the cut):

large mysterious bruises all over my body (still recurrent anemia but if i take iron i keep it at bay)

being sick like 85% of the year

throwing up every time i cough. like every time i had an asthma attack or a cold it was made 100 times worse because i’d throw up constantly on top of it. and they were already worse than other people’s

throwing up (unintentionally) every time i ate until my stomach was full (this obviously didn’t help me wrt the eating disorder of similar symptoms)

cluster headaches, all the time

joint + bone pain, all the time

chronic sinusitis

8+ day heavy periods, like, soak through tampon and pad heavy

acne!!!! i still have it but not so bad/untreatable as it was

brain fog + depression was Way Worse

seborrheic dermatitis with like, pieces of scalp the size of my pinky fingernail 

every gastrointestinal illness bug symptom, at once, or on a random alternating basis

scars from every cut or scrape i got because injuries didn’t heal or took a really long time to heal

like i’m just thinking if i was still undiagnosed and i got coronavirus, i think i would be dead right now

Excerpt of a roleplay done with Will and a couple other people done in our rp discord. Made an NPC who was supposed to die and didn’t, and now he’s being developed into a fully fledged character with an affliction (overtly friendly Deity that’s determined to make his life a living hell) who’s just trying to survive to see the next day.

Just thought the idea of Afton crouching like Caine was, then being coiled around by the deity, was a really neat mental image.
