Sketching Chapter 1.2.1 - A Night After A Day's Walk

1. JEAN VALJEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAN

2. I started Book Two - The Fall today! And we're off! The protagonist has arrived! I so excited I can't even think properly on what to write here

3. Ah and I'm suffering in atecipation

4. I just love him so much okay

5. I tried to read this thinking about how someone who doesn't know anything about Jean Valjean or Les Miserables would react to this. I came up with a reaction that is all fear of this man, pity and doubt and confusion.

6, I mean JVJ appears to be a mysterious man. We know nothing about who he is or what he's thinking. Only that he is hungry and tired and can't find a place to take him. And he breaks into property and jumps over walls. And takes all the money people offer him. And he is so. Tired.

8. Lots of references to Napoleon in this chapter. I suppose it's just because he's just been through there and the year is 1815. But also there IS a purposeful parallel between Valean and Napoleon. Walking the same road. I'm still unaware as to why.
