2/100 Days of Progress - The reason I’m not calling this a “100 days of productivity” is that I recognize that a lot of it is going to be simply pushing through, refusing to check out even when I would ordinarily tell myself I’m failing (also because the very concept of “productivity” as it’s applied in corporate america is ableist and attempts to judge effort by results--effort and results rarely match up for me as of yet!). Today had hints of a day like that. I managed routine/habit stuff, but when it came to hard-to-brain work assignments and long-procrastinated adulting tasks I ran into some serious roadblocks. I still don’t have my two biggest tasks for today (writing copy for my work’s facebook bots to pitch at people, paying off late bills) finished, and I am no longer sitting in the idyllic light of late afternoon gazing at a cactus and drinking a huge bottle of water but rather sipping strong instant coffee in the dark anticipating several more hours’ work before I sleep. But that’s ok! Tomorrow I don’t have anything urgent so if I finish this stuff I can take it slow. AND prior to the official start of my workday I managed to:
Exercise
Read a chapter of a book
Write ~400 words
Meditate
Which is more than I used to do on a GOOD day. What I’m gonna keep telling myself is I am at peace with imperfection, I have already improved a lot, I am still improving!!!!
