Congrats on 1000!! (and more) Sharrkan with a shipwreck, survivor, but with angst please?
Big achievements and survivors
“[Name]?!”Shock laid in his voice, when Sharrkan cried out for his s/o, right before starting to cough violently. Immensely strained, he dragged his body up the shore, past wooden slats and barrels, which gently swayed in the water, being rocked back and forth. It had been the first time he had ever experienced such a storm in the middle of the sea and even though he had his fair share of wounds, blood dripping from the deep scratches in his sides, he couldn’t help but worry about his s/o.
Finally, he managed to pull himself out of the water, though standing was an obstacle itself. Sharrkan hoped he’d be able to see a bit more, once he was in an upright position. However, when he was finally able to oversee the sand beach, there still was no trace of his s/o. He tried walking a few steps, hoping to enlarge his view even more, but there was not a hint of a presence. In fact no ones even.
That was until he heard an unusual splashing sound from his left, making him instantly turn. For a second he felt pure happiness rise in him when he made out his s/o clothes in the wet from the distance. Hunched and pained, he put on his fastest walking speed, reaching his s/o in what felt like a slow eternity. They were fighting hectically with a board that kept them stuck in the water.
Dropping to his knees, he frantically tore on the wood, trying to reach them. The salty water splashed all over him, made his eyes burn by contact and made it hard to breathe, but Sharrkan was more than happy when he got to finally loosen the board and his s/o was able to emerge completely from the water.
Helping them around, he didn’t notice how the sea around them slowly turned red. Sharrkan helped his beloved to sit up lightly, a fury of coughs coming over them, shaking them aggressively, as they groaned in pain in his arms. He tried talking to them at first but they wouldn’t reply, shaking their head, which felt completely dulled after almost drowning. However, in their pain and disorientation, they dug their nails into his arms, making him flinch slightly from the salty burn that washed inside the wounds.
“It hurts!”, they groaned, barely catching any breath in between their coughing and panic, urging him to look out for their second hand, which happened to press down onto their leg. Only now he realized the huge flow of blood leaking out of it, the wound deep, from being stabbed into. Worriedly Sharrkan did his best to get up again, pulling them out of the water with him and setting them into the warm sand.
“It’s okay, [Name]! We can do this, it’s just a flesh wound!”, he tried to calm them, hastily ripping some fabric from his clothes to bandage their wound. “You’ll see, we get through this!”
“Sharrkan..:”
“We survived it, we won’t let anything else bad happening to us!”
“Sharrkan, where are you…”Only now he noticed his s/o’s outstretched hand, searching for him in the air like a guiding light. He quickly used one of his free hands to reach out to them, holding it tightly in his. “I’m right here, my love. What’s wrong?”
“Sharrkan? Where… I can’t see you.”
Hearing these words he had to swallow hard, as he brought them up to sit in his arms, which were shaking either from the cold wind that came up, as the storm drew closer to the small island, or the words his s/o spoke. Sharrkan could only sit next to them, holding them close to him, an enormous feeling of helplessness washing over him, as he watched his s/o trying to find him still.
“I… I am here. We will be alright. Everything…” he took a short breath before continuing, words stuck in his throat. “Everything will be alright.”
